Nonlinear vibration of the spiral bevel gear under periodic torque considering multiple elastic deformation evaluations due to different bearing supports

Abstract This paper investigates two parameters effect on vibrational responses of the spiral bevel gear. Changing gear system overall stiffness (GSOS) considering elastic deformation and periodic torques are which represented as main goals this study. In order to investigate effects shaft deformation, different cases with support locations considered. The first case is presented by locating close gear, in latter one, distance between increased. Besides, study torque, types considered: constant excitation torque. To illustrate dynamic behavior, governing differential equations solved numerically according Runge–Kutta method. nonlinear due backlash time-varying coefficients results GSOS variation. Vibrational phenomena illustrated means bifurcation diagrams, RMS, Poincaré maps. Particular behaviors such “chaos” “period-doubling” details. By investigating stiffness, show that when far away from vibration response increased 67.5%.
